The Women Leaders in Medicine Series

I am SO EXCITED!

Why, you ask?

There’s an AMAZING new book series and it highlights women in medicine.

Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler: Doctress of Medicine (Women Leaders in Medicine Series Book 1)

The first book is titled “Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler: Doctress of Medicine (Women Leaders in Medicine Series Book 1)” If you have kids (or even if you don’t) you need to get this book!!!!! This book was written by a dear friend (Dr. Sheryl Recinos) and the book was dedicated to yours truly *tear*.

This is Book 1/ 27 of a children’s’ book series celebrating the life of female physicians. This first book is about Dr. Rebecca Lee Grumpler, a black female physician who earned a “Doctress of Medicine ” in the 1800s. She finished medical school the year before the civil war ended and she was an author also.

Each book will discuss a different Woman Leader in Medicine. This is a great way for your kids to learn intersection history from an author who is an amazing woman in medicine herself.

These books are short (32 pages each) and a great read for everyone, but especially kids ages 6-9.

GET THIS BOOK ASAP!!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

From the author Sheryl Recinos MD :

” I chose Loucresie Nichelle (AKA Lou Nichelle) for Book #1 because she inspires me to be my very best and fight bias in medicine. She leads a group of strong lady doctors and helps educate us on issues that cause great disparities in healthcare. “

  1. I precisely had to thank you so much again. I am not sure the things that I could possibly have created without the type of advice documented by you about this question. It was before a frightening issue in my opinion, however , being able to see this specialised strategy you resolved that made me to weep over delight. I’m grateful for your help and in addition believe you really know what a great job you’re getting into teaching the others all through your blog. Probably you haven’t come across any of us.
